WHAT WE OFFER
At KBID, our goal is to make the design process an enjoyable one for our clients. We can be as involved as you would like us to be in your project or simply create a game plan for you if you are a DIY enthusiast.
Experience has shown us that knowledge of standard procedures helps clients feel comfortable for the duration of the project. There will be no surprises and you will always understand where we are in the design process.
Here's what the holistic design process looks like...
PHASE II, Concept and Design
We will spend time getting to know you and your family, how you "live" in your space and what your "must haves" are for your new home. Pinterest and Houzz are a great help to help us understand the style and aesthetic you are striving to achieve
We will develop an overall concept that will help drive all our future decisions.
Floor plans will be developed using all your clippings and plans that you've found and furniture plans will be created to make sure we have the correct flow and travel paths. Upon your approval, all spaces will be taken a step further with cabinet layouts, and custom millwork drawings for special areas like the fireplace, den and flex spaces.
Here's the fun part... we will walk you through your home on the computer examining and viewing all the details including paint colors, finishes, door heights, widths, windows and overall space.
Once you are in love with the plan we can get our plans to your architect for the development of construction drawings and engineering as required by your cities building department.
PHASE III, Material Selections
While your construction drawings are being prepared by your architect we will be busy at work selecting materials, fixtures and finishes for your project.
Detailed drawings for cabinets, tile (including layouts, trim and grout) and any custom millwork will be prepared.
Once you approve the materials and drawings, a "Specifications Binder" will be created that will include actual samples and details of all materials, installation methods, vendors and colors so there will be no guessing by the general contractor and sub contractors once construction begins.
Once construction begins, we like to develop a close relationship with the general contractor, attending multiple site visits and assuring the work is being completed as designed and to your satisfaction.
If you are a DIY enthusiast the Specifications Binder will act as your "game plan" as you work through you project. We are happy to do onsite visits with you or subs, again, to ensure the work is being completed according to plan
ON SITE CONSULTATION
$250
At the design consultation your specific design needs will be discussed including scope of work, budget, timeframe and expectations. We will also discuss the design process and review the KBID design agreement. The consultation will last between 60 and 90 minutes. Should we both agree that KBID is a good fit for your project a Letter of Agreement will be prepared and the project will commence.
The consultation fee will be credited back to you on your first invoice.
FEE STRUCTURE
$175/ HOUR
Projects are invoiced on either an hourly basis or on a flat fee depending on the scope of the project. A retainer will be collected at the time the design agreement is signed. Retainer amount will be determined according to the size of project.

E-DESIGN
If you are outside of the Greater Phoenix area, no problem! We can work remotely on your project utilizing web meetings, photos and Facetime.
PHASE IV, Furnishings, Procurement and Installation
KBID can, if you choose, select all furnishings, accessories, art, area rugs and bed linens. We work with a select handful of trusted vendors that offer great quality products with high style. You don't have to break the bank to achieve a professionally designed home that you are proud of and functions perfectly for your family.
Size, proportions, materials, wearability, textures and colors are all elements that considered in this holistic design process as we strive to create a cohesive home with the aesthetic you have dreamed of.
Quotes will be prepared and all selections will be presented to you. Upon your approval, deposits will be collected and items will be ordered. Prior to delivery we will collect the remaining amounts due. It's important to note, as we are not a retail store, that items purchased from KBID are not returnable.
Delivery and installation will be scheduled and KBID will stage your home for a dramatic reveal. As there are always items that need attention, such as damage in freight and deficiencies, and KBID will address each and every item to assure that you are completely overjoyed with your home.
